A drug detox program of alcohol detox program in Nebraska will start out the same way, and that is with a careful medical assessment. That assessment will look at the specifics of what the patient is addicted to. It will consider how much they are using and for how long they have been using. It will look at co-occurring illnesses as well as any fast history with detox programs. What is learned in this assessment will define the recommendations for an effective drug or alcohol detox procedure.
For some, one of those recommendations may be a detox that begins with full or partial hospitalization. This is particularly important when the detox process can be expected to put serious strain in the body, that must be carefully monitored and treated. In less critical cases, the recommendation could be for a treatment program that is completed in an outpatient setting, where the patient continues to live at home and work too.
No matter what the setting, you should expect some type of counseling to be included in the detox program. This could be in a group setting, as part of a 12-Step program, or a one-on-one counseling setting that will be more focused and personalized. Just be aware that a successful drug detox or alcohol detox requires certain behavioral changes that can only be accomplished through effective counseling.
As a path on the road to drug detox and rehab, Methadone is a very well-known tool. It is a type of opioid that delivers a milder state of euphoria than many other addictive substances, and with careful dosage management and a clinical setting where this medication is administered, it has proven to be a successful component to a full recovery.
There are some keys though that make this an effective treatment choice and the first of these is that the detox program and methadone treatment plan have a strong therapeutic component that works to change addictive behaviors as the methadone dosage levels are steadily reduced.
As you might have surmised by now, there are risks with a detox program that is essentially substituting one addictive substance for another. If the clinic hasn’t demonstrated a very solid success rate with this method, patient could wind up in as much trouble as they were at the outset of their detox/rehab journey.
Nebraska is a bit less expensive than many other states when it comes to drug rehab and alcohol rehab. It isn’t a major difference though so don’t expect major surprises, one way or the other.
Costs begin with the medication that are used in the medical detox programs. There are four primary pharmaceuticals that are used. They include Vivitrol, Suboxone, Methadone, and Subutex. Depending on which is prescribed and the dosing, they will cost a patient somewhere between $32 and $640 per month.
If treatment will happen in an inpatient setting, there are additional costs associated with the residential stay. These cover the room, daily meals, additional medical care, and various other amenities. The costs range from $131 to $667 per day. You can expect an inpatient program to last at least 30 days but the recommendation is likely to be for at least 90 days. Some programs can run for as long as one year.
Treatment in an accredited detox center will have some coverage for those on Medicare. For those with private insurance, coverage is also commonly available. Coverage can be expected to cover between 80% and 90% of all costs. However, private insurance often has a lifetime limit that could be exhausted in more expensive inpatient setting or in the event that drug detox or alcohol detox will have to be repeated.
The initial assessment result in a recommendation for care in an inpatient or outpatient setting. You should give serious consideration to that recommendation in order to help ensure a positive detox outcome. The controlled environment of an inpatient program, coupled with transitional support works wonders in the most challenging detox cases.
For those that get an outpatient recommendation, this is also well worth following but note that these are often predicated on having a strong network of family and friends that will help the patient achieve the right detox outcome.
