Drug detox and alcohol detox programs in New Jersey come in many different shapes and sizes but there are a couple of things that they all have in common.
First, a well-run program starts with a careful physical and mental assessment of each patient. This will help define the true nature of the addiction, along with any co-occurring illnesses that are impacting the addiction. This will then result in a recommended treatment program that specifically meets the needs of each individual patient.
The second common element is the use of medication-assisted treatments. Patients often need the help of these medications to get through the withdrawal process so they can stay well and focused on other treatments. The medications most commonly used include, Suboxone, generically listed as buprenorphine, Subutex, also listed as buprenorphine, and Vivitrol, generically listed as naltrexone, and that is also part of the buprenorphine family. They also use Methadone, which is the most well-known among these drugs.

First, it is important to understand what aftercare is and why it plays such an important role in the addiction recovery process. In any case, costs can often be offset by health insurance plans that can cover as mush as 90% of these programs. For those on Medicare, they also offer coverage. The key to both though is to find a drug detox or alcohol detox program that is accredited.
When addition is treated early, before significant damage is done, an outpatient detox program is often all that’s needed to deliver a lasting cure. However, when a person has been using heavily over and extended period of time, or have tried and failed in the past to get clean, an inpatient setting is a must.
Also, when there is a lack of support from friends and family or the surrounding the patient lives in presents continuing pressure to use, inpatient programs deliver better results.
The initial assessment should have offered a clear recommendation and this is one that should absolutely be followed.
