Alcohol detox and drug detox in Virginia can be approached in a number of different ways, and some will be better than others, based on the needs of each patient. To figure out what that best path to recovery is, programs start with a complete physical and psychological exam. For those battling addiction and needing a greater level of privacy, there are premium treatment centers where costs can easily rise to more than $15,000 per month.

Most private health insurance will cover much of the cost for drug detox and alcohol detox, along with drug and alcohol rehab, and for those that are dependent on government support, Medicare and Medicaid also offer coverage.

Inpatient vs outpatient drug and alcohol detox in Virginia

A drug detox or alcohol detox program’s success is based on the percentage of patients that successfully complete the detox/rehab program and the number that are able to avoid a relapse into addiction. Based on these two factors, inpatient programs are measurably better than outpatient program. That doesn’t mean outpatient program don’t work. They just make it a bit easier for a patient to stray from the path and fail to completely and permanently detox and recover.
